With fall sports practices just around the corner, Sanford Health is offering several sports physical clinics in Fargo to help student-athletes get ready for the upcoming school year. Annual sports physicals are required before participating in school-sponsored athletics.

Appointments are available through July 31 at multiple Fargo locations and cost $50. Families should bring their school's sports physical form with the parent section completed and signed. Among the updates are a new statewide chronic wasting disease (CWD) testing plan, changes to carcass disposal rules, the end of the statewide shotgun-only zone in most counties, and a new electronic licensing system. More than 65 Volkswagens filled a Fargo parking lot Saturday as the Red River Volkswagen Club hosted its annual car show, with this year's event benefiting local nonprofit Hope Blooms. Along with classic and modern vehicles, attendees enjoyed food trucks, arts and crafts, and opportunities to donate or volunteer.

The club hopes to raise a few thousand dollars for Hope Blooms through the annual fundraiser, which takes place every year on the last Saturday in July.
