Scoops of the Day

Community Brings New Life to Dike West Basketball Court 🎨

The Dike West basketball court in Fargo got a vibrant makeover thanks to local artists of all ages who came together to paint a colorful community mural. Organized by the Fargo Park District, the paint-by-numbers mural features the park’s colors and symbolizes nature, movement, and play—reflecting the city’s growth and spirit. Marketing Specialist Kylie Kanwischer shared that the court is one of the busiest in Fargo, and this project was a way to celebrate the north side and National Parks and Recreation month. To keep the celebration going, join the Fargo Park District for a ‘movie on the court’ event on Wednesday, July 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. For more details, read the full article here.

Downtown Fargo Street Fair Returns This Week 🎉

The Downtown Fargo Street Fair returns Thursday, July 17 and Friday, July 18 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can enjoy food and merchandise from local and regional vendors along with live entertainment each day. Several streets and intersections will be closed starting Wednesday, July 16 at 6 a.m. for event setup including Broadway from Main Avenue to 7th Avenue North and parts of 2nd Avenue North and NP Avenue. The best routes to downtown are 2nd Street North, 4th Street North, 10th Street North, University Drive North, Main Avenue, 1st Avenue North, 4th Avenue North, and 7th Avenue North. With over two thousand parking spots in nearby ramps, parking will be convenient. The event expects over one hundred thousand visitors throughout the weekend. For the full schedule and more information, read the full article here.

Fargo Pools Stay Busy This Summer 🏊‍♂️

Summer heat has Fargo pools buzzing with activity. Even with the new Island Park Pool open, attendance at other pools remains around 90%. According to Dave Klundt, Aquatics and Recreation Manager with the Fargo Park District, younger kids from local daycares often visit pools like Davies, Roger G. Gress, Southwest Rec. Pool, and Madison because these spots tend to be less crowded and have shallower water. Plus, a friendly reminder that Fargo Pools offer free admission on select days this summer—perfect for a refreshing, budget-friendly way to beat the heat!
