Catch the Vibes at Greater Moorhead Days 🚗

Greater Moorhead Days kicked off Thursday evening with the final Cruise Night of the summer, setting the tone for a nine-day celebration full of community fun. Featuring live music, cool vehicles, and local vendors, the event at MState’s west parking lot brought the community together in style.

But the festivities are just getting started! Tonight, the Greater Moorhead Days Parade rolls through at 6:00 p.m., followed by a community social hosted by the Moorhead Human Rights Commission. You can expect plenty of fun events in the coming days, including the annual medallion hunt starting Monday, and the Midco Kids Fest on Tuesday. For more details, read the full article here.

Moorhead’s Matt Cullen Skates into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame 🏒

Moorhead native and three-time Stanley Cup champion Matt Cullen will soon be inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. Cullen, known for his 21-season NHL career and 1,500+ games played, joins the 2024 class alongside Brianna Decker, Frederic McLaughlin, Kevin Stevens, and the 2002 Paralympic Sled Hockey Team.

Drafted by Anaheim in 1996, Cullen’s journey included stops with eight different NHL teams, most notably helping the Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins secure Stanley Cup victories. His legacy extends beyond the rink, as he and his wife founded the Cullen Children’s Foundation, which supports children’s healthcare in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Raise for Rescues Fundraiser Returns to Support ND Shelters 🐾

The North Dakota Raise for Rescues fundraiser is back, aiming to help animal rescues and shelters during a challenging time. Started by the Central Dakota Humane Society during the pandemic, the initiative allows participants to donate to their chosen shelter, with 50% of proceeds going directly to that shelter and the rest distributed among other rescues across the state.

With many shelters struggling to meet the growing demand for animal care, the fundraiser is vital to keeping their doors open. The event runs online until September 15, with hopes of expanding participation to even more shelters. For more details, read the full article here.
