Swinging for the Spotlight ⚾

Treyton Teberg, a standout sophomore from Kindred High School, is making waves beyond the ballfield. As a three-sport athlete—football, basketball, and baseball—Teberg's passion and dedication have earned him a shot at the prestigious Sports Illustrated Athlete of the Year award. Representing his school and community with grit and heart, Treyton’s nomination comes thanks to his stellar performance as a first baseman on the Kindred baseball team.

Currently sitting in second place in his group, Treyton needs your vote to take the lead. The winner scores a $25,000 prize and a feature in a Sports Illustrated 3BRAND ad. Voting closes Thursday, September 4 at 9:00 p.m. CST—don’t miss your chance to support a local talent on a national stage!

Fix It Forward Auto Care is shifting into high gear with the opening of its fifth Fargo-Moorhead location at 3471 S. University Drive in Fargo. Doors open bright and early at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2nd. But this isn’t just another auto shop—it’s part of a larger mission to keep the community moving. Get Lost in Fun at The Great Maze 🌽

The Great Maze at West Acres Mall is back and it’s going bigger than ever—literally. Featuring a brand-new design made entirely from white cedar planks, this year’s maze is aiming to snag the title of the largest cedar wood maze in the world, possibly breaking a Guinness World Record in the process.

But the adventure doesn’t stop at the maze. Visitors can dive into scavenger hunts, browse pumpkin sales, and enjoy family-friendly games and activities. One returning favorite is the corn pit, now expanded with playground equipment and shaded seating so parents can relax while kids play. The Great Maze is open from August 30 through October 31, so there’s plenty of time to get your steps in—and maybe get a little lost in the fun.

New Faces at Red River Zoo

Rare Monkeys Arrive at Red River Zoo 🐒

The Red River Zoo has added two critically endangered pied tamarins from Brazil to its collection, delighting visitors with these charismatic newcomers. Named Noah and Peanut Butter, the monkeys are currently in quarantine but are visible in the zoo’s Discovery Barn, where guests can watch them adjust to their new environment. The zoo is one of only seven in the United States to house this rare species, making their arrival a significant step for global conservation efforts.

Zoo staff say the tamarins have quickly become crowd favorites. “Pied tamarins are very charismatic. Their facial expressions – they’re really interested in people, and they are enlivened by seeing guests around the zoo,” said Sally Mulvena, President and CEO of the zoo. Eventually, the monkeys will move to a larger enclosure at the zoo’s entrance to live alongside two-toed sloths and White-faced Saki monkeys, creating a unique and engaging habitat for visitors to enjoy.
