Scoops of the Day

Local Doctor’s Travel Photography Featured at Hector Airport 🖼️

Travel meets talent at Hector International Airport, where a new photo exhibit by local cardiologist Dr. David Clardy is now on display above the baggage claim. Clardy, who works with Sanford Health, shares six stunning photos from his world travels as part of a collaboration between artWORKS and the airport. What started as a hobby in 1999 has grown into a passion that’s helped him connect with other local photographers and the Fargo-Moorhead community. This marks the seventh year of the artWORKS partnership, bringing creativity to unexpected places. For more details, read the full article here.

Pickleball Meets Pints in Moorhead 🏓

Courts and Pints, a brand-new 60,000 square foot pickleball facility, is now open in Moorhead and serving up more than just volleys. With 15 pickleball courts, eight cornhole lanes, event spaces, a self-serve tap wall, and a full restaurant and bar opening courtside in July, it's designed to be a hub for both play and hangouts. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., courts can be reserved online or on-site for $20 an hour, with memberships also available. The space is set to host the North Dakota pickleball championships this September. For more details, read the full article here.

North Dakota Boosts Local Wine Industry with New Grants 🍇

Wolf Creek Winery near Coleharbor started as a personal passion project and is now pioneering North Dakota’s emerging wine scene despite the state’s challenging climate. Thanks to cold-hardy grape varieties developed by local universities, wineries like Wolf Creek can now grow grapes suited to harsh winters. The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is fueling this growth with $80,000 in grants to support research, promotion, and marketing for local fruit and wine producers. This funding aims to build a sustainable, homegrown wine industry that boosts tourism and brings more local wine drinkers to the table. Grant applications are due by June 29.
