Scoops of the Day

35 Years of Adopt A Street 🛣️

Fargo’s Adopt A Street program has been going strong for nearly 35 years, starting in 1990 when a local Girl Scout troupe reached out to the city to help clean up the community. Today, the program continues to thrive, with individuals, businesses, and organizations stepping up to take responsibility for sections of Fargo's roadways. Whether it’s a business, a group of friends, or just a community-minded individual, the program has inspired many to make Fargo a cleaner, more beautiful place to live. Supporting Veterans in Frazee 🇺🇸

United Community Bank is hosting its annual “Tailgates for Troops” event on October 4th in Frazee, aiming to raise $15,000 for the Veterans Honor Flight. Before Frazee’s Homecoming football game, attendees can enjoy food, games, and community spirit under the UC tent. The bank will match all donations, with funds supporting the Honor Flight, which sends North Dakota and Minnesota veterans to Washington, D.C. Last year, the campaign raised $14,406, and they’re hoping to surpass that this year. For more details, read the full article here.

Concordia’s Free Tuition Program Extends for More Students 🎓

Concordia College is continuing its Concordia Promise program, offering full tuition for new students who qualify based on financial need. The program is open to students from any state with an adjusted gross income under $90,000, as reported on their FAFSA. It’s renewable for up to four years and covers tuition costs through a mix of federal, state, and Concordia scholarships. Students must apply by December 15 for automatic consideration, with applications open until May 1. While tuition is covered, housing, food, and fees are not included.
