Veterans Honored with Special Trip to D.C. 🇺🇸
229 veterans from North Dakota and Minnesota landed in Washington, D.C. on Sunday for the Veteran’s Honor Flight, visiting historic sites like Fort McHenry and the WWII Memorial. For many, it was their first time being formally honored for their service.
The trip was filled with heartfelt moments, including Army veteran Dennis Boucher’s surprise call after two years on the waitlist, and some friendly teasing between Air Force veteran Patrick Winkler and his grandson, a Naval Academy cadet. For more details, read the full article here.
Thousands Join Annual Hunt 🐣
North Pines Market brought joy to Perham once again with their 4th annual Easter egg hunt at Arvig Park on April 19. With over 13,000 eggs scattered across the softball field, the event had a unique twist—parents got to join the fun first, racing for eggs before the kids had their turn.
Owners Veronica and Jeremy Marpoe started the event after realizing their town didn’t have one, and it quickly turned into a beloved community tradition. Thanks to support from local businesses, hundreds of prizes were handed out, making this family-friendly event a big hit once again. For more details, read the full article here.
($) Building Smiles Brick by Brick at Scheels 🧱
Scheels in Fargo was buzzing with excitement on April 18 as over 250 kids gathered for a free LEGO race car-building event. Young builders received complimentary kits and enjoyed LEGO-themed cookies, movies, and a photo booth, making for a playful and memory-filled afternoon with family and friends.
Scheels marketing associate Bella Schwartz shared how special it was to be part of something so joyful, calling it “a LEGO party” she’s lucky to call work. One lucky participant also had the chance to win a $100 gift card. Missed this one? Don’t worry—Scheels’ next free event, Grill Fest, fires up on May 16. For more details, read the full article here.

A Heart of Courage
A Young Fighter’s Legacy Lives On 💙
Seven-year-old Kane Bolan of Minnesota lived a life full of heart, strength, and joy—despite incredible odds. Born with two rare health conditions, Kane underwent surgery just one day after birth and faced countless medical challenges. Yet, he remained full of life, laughter, and that signature smile, earning his Irish name “Kane,” which means “fighter.”
Supported by a devoted family and a community that rallied around him, Kane lived life to the fullest—riding bikes, sitting around campfires, and cherishing moments with his twin brother Dennis. One of his final wishes came true in March when he connected with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—his beloved “Maui”—through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. A week later, Kane passed away, but his spirit continues to inspire all who knew him. For more details, read the full article here.
