Scoops of the Day

Fresh on the Block: Kwik Star Makes Its North Dakota Debut 🚀

North Dakota just got its first taste of Kwik Star, and Fargo residents wasted no time checking it out. The new 24-hour store on 12th Ave S drew early crowds eager to explore the familiar-yet-new brand, especially since Kwik Star is the sister company to Kwik Trip. Both names come from the same parent company and offer the same products, including their well-known lineup of fresh essentials like eggs, butter, milk, and an impressive selection of meats.

The Fargo opening is only the beginning. A second Kwik Star is set to roll out on December 11th along 45th Street, with three more stores planned for 2026. With this rapid expansion, residents can expect even more convenience options popping up across the region.

Powering the Future: Midwest Energy Summit Highlights Innovation ⚡

This year’s Midwest Energy Summit explored how energy, innovation, and community-focused leadership are shaping the future. Experts emphasized that building trust and resilience within communities is just as important as technological advancements. Caroline Hackerott from NDSU highlighted the critical role companies play in supporting local communities, calling them “the cavalry” in creating community-based solutions.

Speakers also stressed the importance of preparing employees and leaders for an energy-driven future, with insights from Katherine Worwa of Otter Tail Power and David Owen, former South Dakota Chamber of Commerce President. Industry leaders from Applied Digital, X-Cel Energy, and other companies contributed to discussions on sustainable growth and workforce development.

Spuds Aim for Glory: Moorhead in State Football Final 🏈

The Moorhead Spuds are just one win away from claiming their first state championship since 1987. After a challenging season that included key injuries and a low postseason seed, the Class 6A team has proven they belong, cruising through the semifinals with a strong defensive showing. Junior QB Jett Feeney has led the charge, keeping the team perfect when he’s on the field, while players like Zak Walker and Genesis Kamara highlight the squad’s teamwork and versatility.

This Friday, Moorhead faces the Edina Hornets, a team they narrowly defeated earlier in the season. Head Coach Kevin Feeney reminds the team to soak in the experience while staying focused on preparation and execution. Kickoff is at 7 P.M. on November 21 at U.S. Bank Stadium, with KVRR Sports covering the game.
