Scoops of the Day
West Fargo Friends Bring Small Town Spirit After Tornado Devastation ($) 🌪️
When a powerful EF3 tornado ripped through the Sheldon area, leaving destruction and tragedy behind, local communities quickly stepped up to support those affected. Despite losing power, Off the Rails Bar and Grill in Sheldon stayed open with battery-powered lights, offering cold beer, water, and sloppy Joes in exchange for freewill donations. Vanessa Gilbertson and Jennifer Voorhees, both from West Fargo, organized the effort to raise funds for families impacted by the storms that claimed three lives and damaged homes.
Nearby, other small-town businesses joined the relief efforts, with the Maple River Saloon and Eatery serving over 300 meals to first responders and linemen working tirelessly to restore power amid rising temperatures. The generosity and resilience shown by these communities highlight the deep bonds and caring spirit that define rural North Dakota. For more details, read the full article here.
Busch Battle Brings the Heat (and the Beer) 🍻
Sunshine, cornhole, and nearly 6,000 cans of Busch Lite? That was the scene at The Lights in West Fargo during the third annual Busch Battle, where 16 teams faced off in a friendly tournament for a cause. With each $60 entry going directly to Farm Rescue, a nonprofit helping ag families during tough times, the day was about more than just tossing bags — it was about supporting the backbone of our region.
Spectators enjoyed the lively atmosphere, local vendors, and plenty of merch, all while raising funds for Farm Rescue. The winning team didn’t just walk away with bragging rights, though. They scored an entire pallet of Busch Lite, making this one of the chilliest prizes around. For more details, read the full article here.
