A Scoop of Hope
($) Churches United Makes a Powerful Comeback ❤️
After a year of financial struggles, Churches United in Moorhead has seen a dramatic turnaround thanks to community support, Giving Hearts Day donations, and a major state funding boost. CEO Devlyn Brooks expressed deep gratitude, calling the recovery “uplifting” after the nonprofit faced possible closure multiple times in 2023.
Now, with $900,000 in annual funding secured from the Minnesota Department of Human Services for the next two years, plus Giving Hearts Day donations bridging the gap, Churches United has been able to rehire staff and continue providing shelter, food, and support to those in need. Brooks credits the community’s generosity for keeping the mission alive. For more details, read the full article here.
