Enrollment Surge Sweeps Local Colleges 📖

Valley City State University set a new record with 1,806 students, marking a 31% growth over the last decade. Concordia College in Moorhead also welcomed its largest freshman class since 2018, with a 28% increase in new students. Badges Battle for Blood Donations 🚨

Fargo’s police and fire departments went head-to-head in a friendly competition during the "Battle of the Badges" blood drive at the American Red Cross on Wednesday, September 25. This annual tradition encourages the community to support their favorite first responders by donating blood. Fargo PD’s Sergeant Jarrod Wagner emphasized the drive's mission: to fill every available slot and collect as many donations as possible.

Donors received a Red Cross coffee tumbler and a $15 gift card as a thank-you, along with Sandy’s Donuts coupons and Buffalo Wild Wings offers. Last year’s event collected 36 units of blood, with the Fargo Police Department taking home the win. For more details, read the full article here.

Welcome Home, Heroes! 🇺🇸

Fargo recently celebrated a heartwarming homecoming for veterans returning from the North Dakota/Minnesota Honor Flight. This marked a significant moment as, for the first time in its 18-year history, two planes filled with veterans returned together from a three-day trip to Washington, D.C. The community turned out in droves at Hector International Airport, where family, friends, and supporters lined the hallways, ready to honor these local heroes.

Emotions ran high as veterans were greeted with applause and heartfelt signs. Navy veteran Terry Cornelison expressed joy over the renewed recognition for veterans. Children proudly held posters, shouting messages of love and admiration for their grandfathers, reminding everyone of the sacrifices these heroes made for their country. The event not only highlighted the bravery of veterans but also the community's support and pride in their service. For more details, read the full article here.
