Aimed at protecting kids from diseases like measles and meningitis, the clinics will take place at the FCPH parking lot (1240 25th St South) from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: August 5 (appointments only), August 12 and 19 (appointments and walk-ins), and August 26 (appointments only). Required and recommended vaccines follow CDC guidelines and include shots for chickenpox, hepatitis B, DTaP, MMR, polio, meningitis, and booster doses. Backpacks, Haircuts & Help: Free Back-to-School Event Returns 🎒✂️🍔

A beloved community tradition is back for its third year as Families United for Self-Empowerment (FUSE) hosts the “Back to School Connect 3.0” event on Wednesday, August 6 from 4–7 p.m. at Jefferson Elementary in Fargo. The event is open to all students enrolled in Fargo Public Schools and offers free backpacks and school supplies — but that’s just the beginning.

FUSE founder Victoria Johnson says the goal is to connect families with valuable resources. Along with supplies, kids can receive free haircuts, sports physicals, pediatric screenings, and food assistance. There will also be early intervention assessments for speech and language — potentially providing a head start for students who need extra support.

The family-friendly atmosphere includes resource tables, kids' activities, free food, and a bouncy house, making it a festive and helpful way to kick off the school year.
